JORDANNE HAMILTON
Based in Brooklyn, neosoul & alternative R&B artist Jordanne Hamilton was born in 1998 in Nashville, TN so it’s no surprise that music would play a huge role in her life. After her family relocated back to Southern California in 2000, her affinity for music only grew as a child. She began classical piano lessons at the age of 11 and taught herself guitar & bass guitar starting at age 15. Her time singing at her local church helped her feel at home on stage at a young age. She wrote her first song at the age of 11 and continues to write new music most days. In her adolescence she performed in local honors choirs as well as school theatre and choir programs.
In 2010, Jordanne joined local Orange County classic rock band Whiplash X Band as their new lead singer. Nearly every weekend the band was booked playing venues across Southern California from the Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles to headlining the Hangar at the OC Fair. The band continued their musical pursuits until band members headed to college in 2016. In between university breaks, the band would still get together and play live up through 2022.
After graduating high school in 2016, Jordanne attended a private university north Boston to pursue a B.A. in Music and Philosophy. During her time she refined her skills in classical opera voice as well as discovered a deep love for Jazz voice. She involved herself in the local Boston music scene as well as independently involved herself in lessons and workshops through Berklee College of Music. After graduating, Jordanne received several acceptances to M.M. programs for Jazz Performance. Her education was put on pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. In 2021 she independently released her first single “Come Back.”
Her deep passion for jazz fueled her songwriting and artist pursuits by discovering neosoul artists such as D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild, and Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote. She also admires the songwriting skills of more contemporary artists such as Lianne La Havas, the 1975, Mac Ayres, Frank Ocean, and Daniel Caesar.
Jordanne strives to not only be a dynamic performer and prolific songwriter, but a skilled musician in her vocal, auditory, and instrumental skills. She is constantly working on new music in New York City, seeking collaborators who are excited about experimenting with new music and improving their skill.
